Main Streets
Any downtown districts to a city/town can be a beautiful area to capture Virginia's old-time buildings. These settings can bring loads of character to a photo to set the scene, especially if you love an "industrial look".
Cons:
- You have to find/pay for parking.
- Lots of heavy people traffic which can end up in the background of your photos.
- Weather couple possibly play a factor as long as we check our weather apps!
City Parks
City parks are great way to utilize multiple settings in one location. Most parks have free parking, are maintained and cleaned up by the city and can have access to open fields, forests, trails, lakes, creeks, bridges and piers.
Cons:
- Weather has to be number one priority to make sure clients won't have trouble with mud, gravel, humidity or too much sunshine.
- If clients plan to wear classy clothing, you need to keep in mind to bring extra footwear, blankets/towels or extra hair products/make up for beauty maintenace.
Beaches/Lakes
Virginia Beaches can be a great option to allow the background of a body of water to compliment the story of the image.
Cons:
- Sand. Meaning the client must prepare with extra footwear.
- Wind. While out on the beach the wind can be the main mood killer in a session especially if clients want their hair to look a certain way.
- People traffic can be a minor issue due to people possiby showing up in the background of your images.
Other Spots
Clients who aim to have a different sense of style can bring so many ideas for different locations. Some people would like their photos to be taken at a Green House/Plant Nursery or a Musuem. Other clients prefer to rent a space or studio to match their vision.
Cons:
- Client would have to pay for the rental space.
- There is a slight possibility if we end up taking photos in a business that we might be asked to leave. (But who doesn't love a little risk?)
- Finally, there is also a chance that we might take some amazing shots....
